THE VAL PHILLIPS ~ 'JOURNEY INTO
SPACE' COLLECTION
| Here is a unique
collection pertaining to 'Journey Into Space', a 1950's BBC Radio
series. It is from the Phillips estate, with all artifacts being
from the 1950's, with the exception of the signed 1975 Barbados
photograph. A wonderful archive that cannot ever be repeated -
unlike the good old Beeb! So that one does not follow suit as seen on other sites (that is copy watered-down information), please visit the Wikipedia site, where you will discover a wealth of information on this series. |

Consists of just 3 photographs.

8" x 10" original adhered onto a mount board.

9" x 7" back stamped BBC Copyright.
Written in pen on reverse: ' Van Phillips + his All-Star Orchestra 26.3.34'

10" x 8".--> states on mount 'JOURNEY INTO SPACE (FIRST SERIES) 1953'
The mount has been (fully) signed in continuity by the respective personnel.
Some have included their role. Note that 3 are quite faint, Don Sharp significantly
faded.

Taking into account their previous appearances on radio and television, this

to be one of the earliest examples of autographs from most of these
individuals.
