Note that the sales of 'Mono' LP's were
still dominant over 'Stereo' in 1967, Therefore, similar to Sgt. Pepper,
etc,
original pressings of Pink Floyd's first album
"Piper.." in Stereo are actually scarcer than the Mono edition
The high price that is regularly attained for the UK 'Mono' is due to the demand
from collector's in other
countries, in particular America and Japan.

FLOYD "A NICE PAIR" ~ Harvest SHDW 403 * 1973
Stereo reissue of "THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN" and "A
SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS" in a gatefold
cover that has a collage of 35 different photographs or illustrations,
and one square with the credits. Front
top right square originally printed with a photograph of dental
surgeon's window, but as at that time dentists
were not permitted to advertise
(yet who was? it was all in fun),
this had to be changed ~ and was, to a photograph
of a Buddah. However, EMI managed to get out of having to
scrap all original covers printed by placing a
sticker over the 'Phang' image. There were 4 different circular
stickers employed (possibly more?):
(1) plain blue (2) plain green (3) a blue 'SPECIAL DOUBLE ALBUM
only £2.50 R.R.P.' (4) gold 'SPECIAL PRICE'
It should not be
attempted to remove the plain stickers, as could prove to be problematic!
Note that the USA pressing has a variation with the g/f : 3 of
the images are in a changed position, one different, and varying
'blotches'.
Unless o/w specified, listed are all 'WR Phang' covers.
All have
the illustrated Inners ( anorak on... the corner cuts on these vary
also !).
1) Sleeve VG * Records OT2/
MR3 + OG3/ RG1 are VG- (play a variable VG to EX) @ £8
2) Sleeve VG+ * Records AH1/ MO2 + PR3/ MT1 are VG (play a

3) Sleeve NM * Records AD1/ OH3 + OM3/ GT1 are EX- with s3 NM
(play VG+ to NM) @ £34
4) Sleeve VG+ * Records TG2/ HH2 + HA2/ HM1 are G+ (play VG+, to
mainly EX to NM) @ £12
