The banks have announced that as from June this year, irrespective of what the date expiry is already imprinted on individual cards, the guarantee cheque card will no longer be valid.

Thus, in most instances, stores will non longer be accepting a cheque as form of payment from walk-in customers.

This does not mean that cheques will be defunct. This business will still be accepting cheques as a form of payment.
