HELP! sleeves:
(1) am yet to find an E.
J. Day example?
(2) mono or stereo lettering on front is in outline.
Any variation in type-set of this is rare.
(3) No mono or stereo stated on the front are post mid 1969 printed
covers.
(4) there are two different 'texture' finishes to the fronts: very smooth (this
is indicated as S ), and slight orange peel/
ripple effect (indicated as R ).
(5) the fronts can be found in varying shades of white. This is signified here
on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being
'yellowy' ~ 5 the whitest possible ![]()
example: S - 3 = smooth front is off-white
HELP! ~ You will see that the the above albums have Y= . This is the sound
quality of "Yesterday". e.g. Y= VG (Yesterday plays VG)
No matter what the rest of the album's playback sound quality demonstrates, s2
track 6 "Yesterday" has a resonance of it's own!
Perfection is what one would wish for, but in this instance second best, as 95%
of examples reveal, will have to suffice.
RUBBER SOUL
front covers
can vary slightly in colour tones. This is not normally pursued by collectors.. however...can
accommodate!
In my experience, of all the
Beatles UK issue LP's, Rubber Soul covers are the hardest to find in true
Excellent NM condition.
re
REVOLVER #299 only: Lead
singer on each track on the LABEL is stated before songwriter credit
e.g.
' DR. ROBERT - John Lennon
(Lennon-McCartney) '
SGT. PEPPER sleeves
have a external flaps within the g/f. Any without this criteria are
post 1971 printed covers.

1: the darker APPLE labels *
2: the correct strong lamination sleeves.
3:"SOLD IN UK...." label statement on THE BEATLES
and YELLOW SUBMARINE
(this criteria is not applicable to ABBEY ROAD onwards).
4. The black inner sleeves that
were unique to Apple LP's, being employed 1968 ~ 1969 only . These were included
with issues of
THE BEATLES
and YELLOW SUBMARINE albums, and a few of the initial

---------------
ORIGINAL UK "LET IT BE" BOX SETS
The 2 ends of the "Interior" base, that houses the tray, have a curved tuck-in flap. As these have to
be pushed/ pulled to remove the contents, it would be highly unlikely that a NM interior exists.
Because the fit is so tight, it is advisable not to store the LP within the box!
Contrary to what one might have read elsewhere, the colour of the APPLE logo on the reverse of the record cover
that came as issued with the box sets, were either red or green - 100% guaranteed. Ratio approx. 6 red, to 4 green.
Red Apple sleeve albums were also retailed without the box.
There were at least four 'green' print variations of the Apple logo on the cover
(...interested?)
The retail price of
£2.99 was +
£1 more than the standard LP. The book was not to be sold separately by
record retailers.
All books included within the UK box set were printed in England.
