THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. - A & BC Gum 1965

This is one of the most "common" 1960's bubble gum card titles in circulation. However, it can
be quite a challenge to assemble a near perfect set. The card is of average quality, so are prone
to becoming "tired" through handling, and the paper itself comes in varying shades of white!

There is something strange about these notes. For example, of the 7 x $5 with the # 4763,
one has been been overwritten in pen (printed) 4963, and another 4768. The first printing had a
faint #, so It appears that the number was misread, indicating at least a 2nd and 3rd printing.
The same applies to 5 x $10: initial #45954, then inked #45956 + #45986 + #48987 (4 variations!).

Re BROOKE BOND. In the early 1960's, I went to our local Methodist hall when the Brooke Bond company ran their "road show".  All I can remember is watching a couple of cine films on chimps, and each child being given a set of their current tea cards. Well, actually, quite craftily, it was 50 cards, but one number was repeated, thus one card short to be a complete set... get the picture? Did you attend similar?   If so, I would be interested to hear from you any further information, especially if you have knowledge of any promotional items that were given out at these shows.
