Introduction
| This is not a Roger
Dean web site, or a complete discography of records that he has
participated in the design of. The records listed
here**
do have the cover designed by Roger Dean, and are for sale. If you are not
too familiar
with Roger's output, you should be able to find further information
elsewhere on the Internet. However, for testament of his outstanding
contribution towards the arts and design in the rock world, and beyond, two
essential books that should be in one's possession are "Views"
and "Magnetic Storm", both published by Dragon's World Ltd,
and also reprinted in association with the Book Club Associates. Any in
stock will be listed on the labels
page. **The band Yes adopted Roger Dean's talents in design for many of their albums output (as well as their stage presentation), and this page does include records issued by Yes as an entity, and well as solo output. Obviously not all these will include an association with Roger, and this will be stated where appropriate. So to save any confusion, the Yes records are listed as a separate section. |
To compliment the design
layout of the external gatefold covers,
and to show consistency, all the images on this page are arranged as:
left image = back; right image = front * interior gatefold sleeves
are also depicted (even if not a Dean design) ![]()
Any lyric/ illustrated inner sleeves, inserts, or posters that are present are
also shown.
![]()
As with all other merchandise depicted on this site, all the photographs
here portray the actual products that are for sale!
All the records on this
page have been professionally cleaned and play graded.

Part 2
| In general, most
Yes albums can be found without any difficulty. However, locating
original pressings of their pre 1973 issues in exceptional condition is
not so easy! In fact, after spending considerable time playing the
ones to hand, and having to discard a few, the assumption is that many
of these did not play perfect from new? The examples on sale here have been professionally
cleaned, and then checked for their sound quality, The photographs here
illustrate some nice condition examples. |
|
YES "YES" ~ Atlantic 1969 |
| Jon
Anderson, Peter Banks, Chris Squire, Bill Bruford, Tony Kaye First issues with the semi-plum label are not that common in good order, due to the sleeve being slightly 'oversize', hence are usually knocked about at the edges. Inside left of the (single card) gatefold has the inclusion "Manufactured by Polydor Records Ltd...", whereas second issues with the orange and green record labels, and with the standard size g/f sleeve, have the statement inside left of the now double card thickness "An Atlantic Record distributed by WEA Records Ltd c 1972". All issues include a lyric insert. No Roger Dean association. Four examples in stock: 1) 1st issue: Sleeve VG+ (actually, front is EX) * Insert EX- * Record EX (plays VG+) @ £85 2) 2nd issue: Sleeve EX+ * Insert EX * Record NM (plays EX to mainly NM) @ £28 3) 2nd issue: Sleeve EX- (2 short creases spine side, o/w EX+) * Insert VG+ Record NM (1st 20 seconds VG, o/w plays EX to mainly NM) @ £14 4) 2nd issue: Sleeve VG+ * Insert VG+ * Record EX+ (plays VG+ to EX+) @ £7 |

The final Yes album originally issued with the red / plum Atlantic label.
